The user menu can be seen after clicking on the user information displayed in the top bar.

The My Profile menu entry gives access to your user profile configuration. Its interface consists of three sections: basic information, preferences and login methods.

Basic information

This is your Emakin user identity. The user’s display name is employed profusely in the Emakin user interface.

Preferences

A profile picture can be selected as desired. When absent, a colored placeholder is generated based on the initials of the user’s display name. The user’s profile picture is employed profusely in the Emakin user interface.

There are also several language options for Emakin’s system language. The user interface will reflect the selected option, respecting both language and culture (locale), when presenting certain information like numbers, dates, and currency by applying the corresponding display format.

The date format allows you to choose from:

  • Auto (e.g. 7/16/2020 in U.S. English)

  • Short (e.g. 7/16/2020 11:15 AM in U.S. English)

  • Long (e.g. Thursday, July 16, 2020 11:15:30 AM in U.S. English)

You can change the color theme of the Emakin user interface by selecting one of the predefined themes.

Login methods

Emakin supports several authentication services. Your enterprise may decide to allow or disallow any of them at any time. Your Emakin administrator is responsible for configuring the allowed authentication mechanisms, and a password policy when applicable. You can then activate or deactivate each of the allowed authentication mechanisms for the selected Emakin user.

Emakin's own authentication service makes use of a username or email address, and password. You are required to choose a password during activation. You may change the password at any time when the service is active. Passwords must always comply with the password policy in effect (e.g. minimum length, mixture of letters, numbers, and special characters).
